“The transmission control software “Fuel Sense Max” specifically developed for buses enables optimized fuel consumption. A main factor to save fuel is the function Neutral at Stop, which is a standard feature of the software”, explains Philipp Wallisch, Sales Manager at K & W Drive Systems.
The function Neutral at Stop eliminates the load on the engine while the vehicle is stopped to reduce non-productive fuel consumption. It also locks the output to help prevent vehicle roll-back while in neutral. Especially for vehicles with a high start/stop duty cycle, the Neutral at Stop function provides the necessary technology for improvements in fuel economy.
In addition the transmission includes Prognostics, a diagnostic feature that informs the operator through a display on the shift selector to check Oil Life, Filter Life and Transmission Health.
